QUESTION 1 1.1.1 Social Responsibility – Social responsibility is the limiting of malpractice through regulation. It is measured by the contribution of a business towards the economy and the employment opportunities. (Erasmus, Strydom and Rudansky-Kloppers, 2015: 9) Employment Equity – Employment equity strives to produce equal employment opportunities for all members of the community. In 1998, the Employment Equity Act became law in South Africa and was designed to eradicate unfair discrimination and create a diverse workplace that represents all of South Africa’s population groups.
